JunZeJun Actively Participated in the First CIIE

From November 5 to 10, 2018, the first China International Import Expo was successfully held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). The Expo attracted 172 countries, regions and international organizations. Over 3,600 enterprises and 400,000 domestic and foreign purchasers gathered along the Huangpu River. According to the CIIE Bureau, the fair closed with $57.8 billion in turnover, with sales on high-end intelligent equipment, consumer electronics and appliances, automobiles, apparel, accessories and consumer goods, food and agricultural products, medical equipment, and health-care products and services.
Being one of the largest full-service law firms in China, JunZeJun has a foreign-related legal service team composed of professional talents who are proficient in English, Japanese, German, Italian, Korean and other languages. During CIIE, Junzejun’s foreign-related legal service team, led by Mr. Wang Zhengyang, actively participated in the CIIE, provided legal services to delegations from home and abroad, ultimately promoting the fair.
Wang’s team has compiled a brochure addressing participants’ concerns in the CIIE, which starts with a brief introduction on the fair, followed by common legal risks for foreign-funded enterprises, and guidance on building a stronger legal compliance team. Wang’s team sent the brochures to all the consulates in Shanghai by email and courier. The brochures were well received by the recipients and praised for their practicality and simplicity.

At the same time, the team was invited by the General Consulates of Ukraine, Ecuador, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Panama, Philippines, Costa Rica, Hungary, Turkey, the Netherlands, Sri Lanka, Denmark and Canada. The team had friendly talks with enterprise representatives invited by these Consulates and helped them better understand their position and issues they are likely to face.
On November 3, 2018, at the invitation of the Philippine Consulate General in Shanghai, Mr. Wang Zhengyang provided legal training for Philippine exhibitors coming to China, focusing on the choices of organization forms when foreign enterprises establishing business corporations in China, trademark protection and contract drafting. The Philippine companies raised many questions and issues regarding their respective businesses, which were promptly addressed. After the training, Mr. Wang continues to provide legal services to Philippine companies.
On November 5, 2018, the Fiji Consulate General in Shanghai together with officials of the Fijian Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, and officials of Investment Fiji visited JunZeJun's Shanghai Office. Mr. Wang Zhengyang and his colleagues introduced JunZeJun's legal services related to the Expo to the Fiji Consulate and government officials. Moreover, Mr. Wang also answered legal questions that Fijian guests were interested in. The two sides exchanged insights on investment and trade issues. Officials of the Fiji Consulate and the CIIE delegation appreciated JunZeJun’s help and hoped to collaborate in the future to serve more Chinese and Fijian enterprises in their investment and trade matters.
At the request of the Russian Export Center, Attorney Zhengyang Wang organized more than 30 Chinese enterprises to attend the Russian-Chinese enterprises commercial exchange on November 6. Mr. Wang briefed on legal issues concerning Chinese imports and exports laws.
During the CIIE, JunZeJun's service team also attended the inter-enterprise business exchange activities organized by Croatian and Indonesian governments, and helped the enterprises of China and foreign countries connect resources and explore further cooperation, which won high praise and heartfelt thanks from the participating enterprises.
On November 10, Mr. Zhengyang Wang had conversations with consultants of the Ukrainian Export Promotion Office and trade delegation. The Ukrainian trade delegation members introduced the achievements of Ukraine at the CIIE and expressed their gratitude to JunZeJun. They hope to further deepen its cooperation with JunZeJun to support Ukrainian companies in China.
The China International Import Expo is the most important annual event for domestic and foreign producers and trading companies. The Expo presents unprecedented business opportunities and invaluable experience for both domestic and foreign enterprises. New products, new technologies, new services, new models and new formats from all over the world are converging to provide huge potential for the transformation and upgrading of China’s domestic enterprises. Such large scale of company participation will create a very positive impact for the world economy. As People's Daily Online commented, “it can be predicted that a more prosperous and convenient domestic market is growing by drawing on the nutrition and energy brought by the CIIE, which is undoubtedly a huge benefit for both consumers and producers.”
