Mr. Tao Xiuming was Invited to Make Speeches in a Series of Talks on International Commercial Arbitration

 

JunZeJun founding partner, Mr. Tao Xiuming was invited by the main host, China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, and supporting organizations, Northwest University of Politics & Law and the Xi’an Arbitration Commission, to attend the “Chinese Arbitration Week – International Commercial Arbitration Talks” taken place at the Yanta campus of the Northwest University of Politics & Law International Law Base on 28 September, 2016. He was the main speaker of the talk on “Arbitration Mentality and Consideration factors on Commercial Investment Disputes”, giving audience an in-depth introduction and insight on the topic.

Mr. Tao started off by introducing the current economic situation and that of commercial arbitration with relevance to financial investment cases. He further explained problems such as the disjunction with actual economy, reduction in the ratio of direct finance, complexion in structures of financial products, overly-long product line, decline of economy, increase of risks, increase of incidences of breach of contracts, breaking of rigid payments, frequent emergence of huge amount of controversies and inadequate regulations as the main parts of his sharing. In addition to the detailed analysis and lively introduction on the background of China’s financial market, Mr. Tao had also shared his experience and pondered on how to better handle arbitration on financial investment cases and came up with suggestions. He said both qualitative and quantitative analysis; considering and delving into the roles and measures taken by the stakeholders in complying with the regulations, the relationship between individual cases and the market in general; and responding to the market, especially paying attention to the innovative ideas, are the keys to financial investments. He also suggested cases to clarify the respective concepts more thoroughly.

Mr. Tao encouraged students to lay a solid foundation on their legal education in school, and build up soft skills like critical thinking and independent thinking upon their legal knowledge. Other lawyers attending the talk also discussed specific problems emerged in practical with Mr. Tao. This event is successfully held with much positive responses.
