Representative Works

  • Represented a natural resources and planning bureau of Zhejiang Province in litigation against a real estate developer in Ningbo over disputes arising from a construction land use right transfer contract and secured a favorable judgment. The proper resolution of the case successfully eliminated hidden risks of mass petition incidents.
  • Handled a stock dispute for a large listed real estate company involving a disputed amount of over RMB 1 billion. The case was settled via mediation after strenuous negotiations, earning high recognition from the client.
  • Represented a listed real estate group under a central state-owned enterprise in a real estate development contract dispute. Through thorough legal analysis and accurate characterization of legal relationships, the court dismissed all claims filed by the opposing party, recovering RMB 536 million in losses for the client.
  • Represented a real estate developer in a mass litigation case involving contractual disputes with property owners. The court of first instance ordered the developer to pay nearly RMB 100 million in liquidated damages and other compensation. Retained after the second instance hearing, the team put forward new legal arguments and organized sufficient evidence, substantially cutting the compensation payable and mitigating the client’s losses by over RMB 40 million.
  • A metal smelting enterprise lost both the first and second instance trials with highly unfavorable factual findings. Appointed as counsel for the retrial, we restored the objective facts to the court via meticulous and thorough case review. The original effective judgment ordered the client to pay nearly RMB 20 million to the counterparty; the retrial judgment reversed the outcome, ordering the opposing party to pay over RMB 30 million to the client, recovering over RMB 50 million in direct losses.
  • A taxi company retained us as retrial counsel for a housing demolition compensation contract dispute against a project development company. Having lost both the first and second instance proceedings under adverse circumstances, we put forward brand-new legal arguments that were fully upheld by the Zhejiang High People’s Court, securing a final victory.
  • Won the real estate dispute case of Ding XX, which attracted widespread public attention across Hangzhou. The case received special coverage by China Central Television (CCTV) and was later included as a model case in Peking University Law Database (PKULAW).
  • Represented a Hangzhou real estate developer in sales contract disputes over luxury waterfront properties near West Lake. After going through litigation, arbitration, enforcement and arbitration award revocation procedures, we successfully recovered the properties and recouped tens of millions of yuan in losses for the client.
  • Won the copyright infringement case concerning Five Daughters Celebrating Their Father’s Birthday, a work by Gu Xidong, former Chairman of Zhejiang Federation of Literary and Art Circles.
  • Represented a commercial bank in a major litigation case involving claims worth RMB 380 million. The case fully satisfied the client’s demands in terms of disposal efficiency and rights protection, and effectively safeguarded the client’s legitimate interests.
  • Recovered non-performing loans for a commercial bank in Zhejiang through litigation, with a loan recovery rate exceeding 90%.
  • In a complex contractual dispute case, we discovered the opposing party’s suspected criminal conduct during arbitration. We filed a criminal complaint and successfully recovered tens of millions of yuan in losses for the client.
  • Served as defense counsel for the Director of a local Health Bureau charged with bribery. Based on facts identified by the Supervision Commission and procuratorate, the defendant faced a sentencing range of 3 to 10 years in prison. Through comprehensive defense, the court recognized voluntary surrender, and the defendant was given a suspended sentence.
  • Defended Jiang XX in a fraud case where the defendant faced a fixed-term imprisonment of over ten years based on the amount involved. With effective defense work, the investigating authority dismissed the case.
  • Defended Liu XX suspected of fraud. Public security authorities initially identified the fraud amount at over RMB 18 million. Given the exceptionally serious and complex circumstances, the case underwent two supplementary investigations and was submitted to the municipal and provincial procuratorates for instructions. The procuratorate ultimately adopted our defense opinions and issued a non-prosecution decision.
  • Served as defense counsel for Song XX, who was accused of stealing a Bvlgari necklace. The procuratorate accepted our defense arguments and issued a non-prosecution decision.
  • Suspect Zhao XX gathered several persons to detain and beat the creditor during debt collection, and the victim died while in detention. Public security authorities transferred the case to the procuratorate for review under the charge of illegal detention. As defense counsel, we actively facilitated criminal reconciliation, secured forgiveness from the victim’s family at a moderate compensation cost. The procuratorate fully adopted our defense opinions and issued a non-prosecution decision in accordance with the law.
  • Defended Lang XX charged with disseminating obscene articles, a case involving a large volume of illegal materials with aggravated circumstances. By analyzing the constitutive elements of the crime and scrutinizing case evidence, the procuratorate accepted our defense views and issued a non-prosecution decision on the grounds of insufficient evidence.
  • Case of Liu suspected of fraud. Based on the amount involved in the crime, Liu might have faced a fixed-term imprisonment of no less than ten years. Through effective defense, the investigating authority adopted the counsel’s argument that the crime committed should be contractual fraud instead of fraud, reduced the alleged criminal amount from several million yuan to less than RMB 1 million. Ultimately, Liu was given a suspended sentence.
